Deputy Commissioner (Operations) Wong Chi-hung led a 10-member Force delegation, comprising five Bureau Heads of Crime Wing, to attend the 21st Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Tripartite Heads of CID Meeting in Macao between June 9 and 10.

Mr Guo Shaobo, Deputy Director of Guangdong Public Security Department, headed the Guangdong delegation while Mr Ma Io-kun, Commissioner of Unitary Police Service, led the Macao delegation.

In the meeting, the challenges facing the law enforcement of the three places were discussed. The delegates expressed their views and actively engaged in discussions on around 30 topics covering five major areas of cross-boundary crime trend, joint operation, criminal investigation, as well as intelligence and training exchange. For combating cross-boundary crimes, the three jurisdictions also outlined corresponding strategies to reinforce exchange of intelligence and capacity building, with a view to strengthening co-operation in law enforcement in the years ahead.

Mr Wong expressed gratitude to the Unitary Police Service and the Guangdong Public Security Department for their tremendous support for combating cross-boundary crime in the past year.  He also emphasised that the three jurisdictions should continue to strengthen the existing tripartite intelligence exchanges and enhance their current modes of co-operation so as to combat cross-boundary criminal activities more effectively.
