New Territories South (NTS) Region provided a training session for crime stream officers of its Crime Response Team on June 11 in a bid to update their knowledge and professionalism in policing public events and to enhance their teamwork.
Welcoming the officers to the session, Acting NTS Regional Commander So Kam-tong stressed the importance for crime stream and frontline officers to work closely together in policing of public events. Noting that the seminar would equip officers with the latest knowledge and tactics of public events policing, Mr So thanked Police Tactical Unit “Alpha” Coy Commander Leung Tsz-kin for laying on the training session.
After the opening address, NTS Regional Response Contingent Tier I Commander Michael Armstrong elaborated on NTS’ command structure for handling public events.
The training session comprised a lecture and a practical session. After training, the trainees indicated that they would be in a better position to discharge public event duties together with frontline officers.
