Lantau District (LTDIST) is operating a series of career development programmes between May and July. On May 29, it kicked off the series by arranging for 34 Junior Police Call (JPC) and 10 Senior Police Call (SPC) members to visit a theme park resort.
The theme park laid on a career-oriented seminar covering both theory and practice, enabling the visitors to gain a better understanding of the theme park's corporate culture and job opportunities.
At the seminar, the theme park's staff members briefed their guests on the job positions in the park and answered questions on employment in the park. After this, the guests observed and took part in the frontline work in the park.
The park also arranged for two experienced artistes aged over 60 to meet the SPC members and share their experiences of working in the park's product stores, their guest services and sales techniques. The SPC members then visited the stores and sampled the experience of working as a storekeeper.
Acting LTDIST Commander Ho Yun-sing pointed out that LTDIST has worked closely with various community institutions over the years, in a bid to provide youths with diverse activities and learning opportunities, and encourage them to become youth leaders and fight crime partners. LTDIST will continue to collaborate with community institutions to help young people make contributions to society and lead a fruitful life, he added.
