Police College rolled out a “Blue Moon Sharing” Series on May 28 in a bid to provide a platform for officers to share their experiences of attending overseas or Mainland development training courses. Another objective of the series is to explore opportunities of adopting external and overseas best practices for the work of the Force.

In the inaugural session of the series, Regional Commander Hong Kong Island Tang Ping-keung gave a talk entitled “The Strategic Approach to Meeting the Future Challenges - the Enlightening Experience from the Royal College of Defence Studies (RCDS)”.  He spoke of the challenges the Force may face after large-scale public events, and how his learning from the RCDS might shed light on making strategic responses to the challenges.

Around 30 participants very well received the inaugural session. After Mr Tang’s presentation, Police College Deputy Director Cheng Tak-ming, who is a Knowledge Champion, presided over at a follow-up discussion, where the participants tried to identify applications of learning from the RCDS.
