In the MacDonald Cup Inter-Major Formation Basketball Tournament on June 8, Marine Region, champion of the last tournament, retained championship by beating New Territories North Region. Kowloon West Region took the second runner-up.

 

Police Constable Siu Chun-ip from Marine Region was selected as the Most Valuable Player by the chief coaches of the four finalists. He led his team to victory with an outstanding performance in the final.

 

Meanwhile, in the Leslie-Luscombe Cup Inter-Formation Basketball Tournament held in May, Marine Outer Waters District reigned supreme again for seven years in a row.  The first and the second runners-up were the Operations Wing of New Territories South Region and Kwai Tsing District respectively.  

 

In the prize presentation ceremony held right after the MacDonald Cup final, Director of Personnel and Training Au Chi-kwong presented trophies to the winning teams and encouraged all teams to continue with their efforts to scale new heights.
