In a bid to enhance officers' professional ability and sensitivity in handling vulnerable persons in domestic incidents, especially vulnerable and mentally incapacitated persons, the Emergency Unit Kowloon West (EU KW) invited the Family Conflict and Sexual Violence Policy Unit (FCSV) to conduct workshops on handling domestic incidents for its officers between April and June. Over 250 EU KW officers attended the workshops.
FCSV Chief Inspector Lee King-hei spoke on a wide range of protocols and legislation for handling "abusive offences", including child abuse, family and domestic violence, sexual violence and elder abuse, with emphasis on officers' sensitivity to handling vulnerable persons and on making timely referrals to the Social Welfare Department.
