Three consul-generals in Hong Kong, Ms Caroline Wilson from the United Kingdom, Mr Miroslaw Adamczyk from the Republic of Poland and Mr Chalief Akbar Tjandraningrat from the Republic of Indonesia, paid courtesy calls on Commissioner Lo Wai-chung last month.
Accompanied by her deputy, Mrs Sarah Bamber, and Trade Commissioner, Mrs Frances Jean Moffett-Kouadio, Ms Wilson called on Mr Lo on July 20, the first visit to the Force since taking up her post in Hong Kong in 2012. They discussed a wide range of issues, particularly those related to UK residents and tourists in Hong Kong.
Mr Adamczyk was also calling on CP for the first time on July 24. Both parties had a constructive discussion on topics of mutual concerns and agreed on the need to continue to work in partnership to fight international crimes.
Mr Tjandraningrat called on CP on July 27. At the meeting, Mr Lo pledged to continue to enhance the existing excellent working relationship between the Force and the Indonesian National Police.
During the courtesy calls, Mr Lo reiterated that the Force attaches importance to maintaining partnerships with overseas stakeholders. Quick and effective communication as well as exchange of intelligence are vital for combating international crimes and terrorism, he stressed.
