The Police Licensing Office (PLO) held a seminar on August 21 for updating and enhancing frontline officers' professional knowledge of licensing and enforcement issues.
With over 200 officers participating in the seminar, PLO officers gave presentations on the new validity period of liquor licence, handling of Money Lenders Licence Applications, drafting of Letter of No Objection for public events and the new policy relaxing the upper age limit of Category B Security Permit holders from 65 to 70.
The seminar offered a platform for officers performing licensing duties to share their experiences and enforcement difficulties. They showed concerns about the handling of Money Lenders Licence Applications and the new prosecution mechanism for enforcing the new policy on Category B Security Permit. They found the seminar useful for bolstering their knowledge and confidence for discharging licensing duties.
Power point presentation of the seminar is available on PLO's homepage on POINT.
