The "Western District (WDIST) Non-ethnic Chinese (NEC) Harmony New Generation - Anti-crime Cricket Tournament 2015" was held on August 1. The event drew six teams from different districts, involving over a hundred of NEC youngsters and two inspectorate police volunteers from WDIST in the game.
Among the guests of honour were WDIST Commander Choy Wise, Chairman of Southern District Fight Crime Committee (DFCC), Mr Leung Ho-kwan, Vice-Chairperson of WDIST Junior Police Call (JPC) Honorary Presidents Council, Miss Camella Fu, Chairman of JPC Central Finance Committee, Mr Ng Siu-keung, Chairman of School Working Group of Central & Western DFCC, Mr Chim Hon-ming, and Social Work Supervisor of Caritas Community Centre - Aberdeen, Mr Joe Kwan.
The event, jointly organised by WDIST, WDIST JPC Honorary Presidents Council and Southern DFCC and co-hosted by Caritas Aberdeen Community Centre and Caritas Mok Cheung Sui Kun Centre, aims to instill in NEC youngsters a sense of civic obligations and a positive attitude towards life and to promote messages on fighting drugs and crime.
During the half-time break of the tournament, the participants had fun at fight-crime game booths set up by NEC volunteers and JPC at the venue.
