Deputy Commissioner (Management) Chau Kwok-leung led a six-member Force delegation to visit Shanxi for a series of study and liaison programmes from August 24 to 29. He also officiated at the Graduation Ceremony of Mobile Firearms and Tactics Training conducted by the Force at the Jinzhong Shi Police Training Centre.
In the 25th Mobile Firearms and Tactics Training programme jointly organised by the Ministry of Public Security and the Force, a nine-member Mobile Firearms and Tactics Training Team headed by Superintendent (Weapons Training) Chan Wing-leung delivered a practical training for five days to 81 public security officers from various formations in Shanxi.
At the Graduation Ceremony on August 28, Mr Chau presented certificates to the trainees and encouraged them to flexibly apply firearms tactics in their enforcement duties, and protect themselves and members of the public.
In closing, Mr Chau thanked the Shanxi Public Security Department for supporting the Mobile Firearms and Tactics Training Team and bringing their training to a successful conclusion. He also complimented the trainees for displaying dedication and perseverance throughout the intensive training programme. The trainees also expressed gratitude to the Mobile Firearms and Tactics Training Team for designing a programme that catered for their specific needs, and applauded the team members for their dedicated coaching and professionalism.
During the visit, the Force delegation attended forums and discussed with officers from the Shanxi Public Security Department and the public security bureaux of Taiyuan Shi, Datong Shi, Yinzhou Shi and Jinzhong Shi, sharing experiences of prevention and detection of crime, personnel and resources management as well as traffic management. The delegation also visited local police stations, police training center, command and control centre and traffic formations to discuss various policing issues.
