The Nepalese Task Force and Miscellaneous Enquiry Sub-unit of Yau Ma Tei Division (YMTDIV) held a seminar on operating bars on August 14 for Non-ethnic Chinese (NEC) bar operators in Yau Ma Tei, hoping that they would get a better understanding of the laws and procedures of liquor licence application. Another objective is to forge a partnership with the NEC community.

During the seminar, the NEC asked officers many questions about liquor licence application procedures and cited the problems they had come across while making applications.

YMTDIV also briefed the audience on the situations of upstairs bars, additional terms of liquor licence, fire safety, and the noise nuisances and midnight lawlessness caused by drunkenness.
