The Force was presented with a Safety Culture Silver Award at the 14th Hong Kong Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Awards Ceremony on September 11. The Safety Culture Award recognises the organisations adopting safety culture to enhance safety management.
After receiving the Safety Culture Silver Award on behalf of the Force, Superintendent (OSH Support) Chow Chun-fung said, "Building up a safety culture will take a lot of effort over a long period of time. The award not only recognises the Force's sustained effort to promote OSH, also gives the Force an opportunity to show its safety management to other organisations. For us, it is a motivation to do better and, more importantly, protect Force members from getting hurt at work."
Speaking at the ceremony, the Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Mr Cheung Kin-chung, pointed out that human resources were not only the cornerstone of Hong Kong's economy but also the most valuable asset of society. Each accident would bring great losses to society, employers and employees.
