The seventh floor of Caine House, complete with a bar-cum-anteroom and a small dining room, is now known as  "The Commissioner's Lounge", a name suggestive of both dignity and tradition, following a facelift, thanks to the successive efforts of the Senior Officers' Mess Committee.

At the invitation of the Committee, Commissioner Lo Wai-chung declared the Lounge open on September 25.

The time-honoured Senior Officers' Mess, located on the sixth floor of Caine House, celebrates its 60th Diamond Anniversary this year. Formerly known as Gazetted Officers' Mess opened on March 25, 1955, the Senior Officers' Mess is a popular place for its members to host Force community engagement functions, small-scale receptions, internal communication events and private functions.

Alongside the opening of  "The Commissioner's Lounge" is an inaugural sale of a quality selection of red and white wines. Members are welcome to use the Lounge and purchase wines through Senior Officers' Mess Manager Frankie Leung at so-mess-manager@police.gov.hk.
