Since the first day I started working in Patrol Sub-unit 1 in Central District after my passing-out parade in 2012, I have been exposed to calls of different natures and from different people. I must say August 26, 2015 is one of the most remarkable days in my police career so far.
For me, recalling a case of "Person Collapsed" on that day is still a "panic-stricken" experience. In response to a summons by the Console, my partner and I arrived at a restaurant in Central to handle the case. A man was lying on the floor without breath and pulse. His pale face showing no sign of life further indicated the extreme urgency at the scene.
Without any hesitation, I applied cardiopulmonary resuscitation on him until the ambulance crew arrived. At that particular moment, the only thing in my mind was saving life with every effort I could make. Thanks to the efforts of my partner and other officers who arrived afterwards, we all demonstrated teamwork and professionalism in handling the scene.
This incident dawned on me that the strong team spirit among the officers in Central District would enhance my confidence and sense of satisfaction with my career. In keeping with the Force's tradition, my colleagues and I will continue to do our best to provide quality services and project the Force's image in good light.
It is a great relief for me to learn that the man regained consciousness afterwards. I wish him a speedy recovery.
