The Force took the titles of both Men's Event and Women's Event in the first Inter-Disciplined Services Beach Volleyball Competition held by the Hong Kong Police Volleyball Club (HKPVC) on September 26.
Being the first event of its nature, the competition attracted a total of 12 men's teams and 11 women's teams from Customs and Excise, Correctional Services, Fire Services and Immigration Departments as well as the Force. The competition also drew a large number of spectators.
After rounds of hotly contested matches, the team formed by Inspector (IP) Wong Chun-on and Police Constable (PC) Chow Ue-fai and the team formed by IP Wong Hoi-lam and IP Chan Hang-ming captured the title of Men's and Women's events respectively. Another team formed by IP Wu Chun-tung, PC Mok Hoi-kin and PC (Auxiliary) Leung Chi-wah took the 1st runner-up place in Men's Event.
Speaking at a prize presentation ceremony, HKPVC Chairperson, Senior Superintendent Catherine Kwan, said the competition provided a precious opportunity for the disciplined services to get together and promote a healthy lifestyle. She also thanked the disciplined services for supporting the competition and praised the players for organising the event.
