Hong Kong Island (HKI) Region hosted a series of Regional Commander HKI tea gatherings with government officials and stakeholders in the community on September 4, 11 and 22. Among the guests were District Officers, chairmen and vice-chairmen of District Council, District Fight Crime Committee and Junior Police Call Honorary Presidents Council, school heads and staff of non-governmental organisations (NGOs).


At the gathering, Regional Commander Tang Ping-keung introduced his operational priorities and hoped that the gatherings would strengthen the communication and co-operation with government departments for providing better services to the public.


The meeting with community leaders saw discussions of matters of concern to both parties for improving community policing. Views were exchanged of the issues concerning the youth, Non-ethnic Chinese, elders and poverty in the gathering with school heads and NGO staff.


Finally, Mr Tang pointed out that the gathering would promote understanding of police work, expand existing networks and boost community co-operation.
