On September 23, Regional Commander of Hong Kong Island Region (RC HKI) Tang Ping-keung presented appointment letters to 90 Evidence Gathering Team (EGT) members in recognition of their professional qualifications.

With a view to handling public events more effectively, 10 EGTs co-ordinated by the HKI Regional Public Order Event Investigation Team formally came into operation in March.
