Organized Crime and Triad Bureau (OCTB) Chief Superintendent (CSP) Au Chin-chau, leading a four-member delegation, chaired the 15th INTERPOL Asia-Pacific Expert Group (APEG) Meeting on Organized Crime in Hanoi, Vietnam, from November 17 to 19. Also attending the meeting were delegations from Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, Brunei, Japan, Macao, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam.

In the meeting, the delegates presented and discussed strategies to tackle international organised crimes whilst OCTB officers also presented the strategies and tactics to combat cross-border illegal bookmaking and vice activities.

At the conclusion, CSP Au highlighted measures to strengthen the partnership among member countries, including comprehensive utilisation of INTERPOL's database, timely exchange of strategic and tactical intelligence, and development of the APEG network. All the overseas delegates expressed appreciation and gratitude to the Force for chairing the meeting, and endorsed the proposed measures.

The meeting provides an international platform for law enforcement agencies in the Asia-Pacific Region to fight organised crimes at a strategic level by boosting co-operation, providing operational support, sharing intelligence and enhancing the capability of law enforcement officers to investigate international organised crimes.
