Kowloon West (KW) Region, the Regional Missing Persons Unit of New Territories South (RMPU NTS) Region and Wong Tai Sin District (WTSDIST) have earned community compliments with jobs well done.
KW busts car theft syndicate
The Regional Crime Unit and Regional Intelligence Unit of KW Region have been praised for busting a major case of theft of vehicles.
On December 4, three car owners and a car park person-in-charge presented tapestry banners to Senior Superintendent Man Tat-shing, Superintendent (Operations) Lam Shu-wing, Superintendent (Administration and Support) Tsang Yiu-wo, all from Crime KW, as well as KW Regional Command and Control Centre Controller Wong Chi-wai.
Three private cars and nine ignition keys were stolen from a car park in Sham Shui Po on October 29. After extensive enquiries, officers arrested seven suspects between November 2 and 3 and recovered the stolen cars and keys. It is believed the operation has successfully cracked a car theft syndicate active in KW Region.
RMPU NTS locates missing elder
A member of the public, Mr Tai, presented a banner to officers of RMPU NTS on December 4 for locating his 73-year-old mother after the granny was reported missing. Mr Tai said the officers showed compassion and reassurance to him and his family during their very anxious time.
WTSDIST cracks robbery, burglary
After WTSDIST officers had busted a robbery and a burglary that happened in Choi Wan Estate in September and October respectively, the Chairman of the Choi Wan Estate Merchants Association, the Chairlady of Choi Wan Estate Residents' Affairs Advancement Association, Wong Tai Sin District Councillor Ms Tam Mei-po and designated Wong Tai Sin District Councillor Mr Choi Tsz-kin called at Wong Tai Sin Police Station and presented banners to the officers on December 14 to show their appreciation of the officers' performances in both cases.
