The Marine Police Mentorship Programme (MPMP) Information Day took place at Police College on November 21. Senior Superintendent (Operations Marine) Cheung Mei-hon, Marine Port District Commander Richard Sheridan and Marine Harbour Divisional Commander Joseph Li were on hand to meet over 100 Mentees.

The Information Day went off smoothly with games to introduce the work of the Marine Region to the Mentees, and team-building activities to hone their problem-solving skills. Police College Physical Instructors also demonstrated the latest requirements of a physical test and reminded the Mentees of the things they have to pay attention to before applying to join the Force.

At the event, MPMP Head Mentor, Marine South Divisional Commander Law Ka-hong praised the Mentors for their efforts and presented certificates of appreciation to the Best Mentors and Best Mentor Assistants for their contributions to the MPMP.

In line with the Force's recruitment strategy, the MPMP, entering its fifth year, targets at the 10 tertiary institutions in Hong Kong, Hong Kong Sea School, Maritime Services Training Institute, Hong Kong Sea Cadet Corps and other relevant organisations for recruiting Mentees interested in the work of the Marine Police. So far, more than 300 members have been enrolled, of whom some have joined the Force.
