Tai Po District (TPDIST) Commander Patrick Laidler called at two banks in Sheung Shui on November 17 and presented letters of appreciation to three staff members for foiling two deception cases.

In the cases, two elders were the targets of "phone deception gang" and "spiritual blessing gang" and were persuaded to draw a large sum of money from the banks. The vigilant staff alerted the elders that it was a deception, helping thwart scam attempts.
