Kowloon City District (KCDIST) has joined hands with "PS33" of Hong Kong Christian Service in offering anti-drug talks to the secondary school students, teachers and parents of an international school.

KCDIST Inspector Michael Wong delivered the first round of the talk to about 100 teachers and staff of the international school on November 23. The other two talks for students and parents were held separately on December 1.

Inspector Law Ka-ming from Hung Hom Division presented the first part of the talk with focus on police strategies to deal with drug offences as well as laws and penalties. In the second part, a social worker and a nurse from "PS33" spoke of the harm of topical drugs, the myth of, and the factors leading to, drugs abuse. The most inspiring part of the talk was a sharing session with a rehabilitated drug abuser.

The talks have drawn favourable feedback from the audiences. KCDIST will continue to adopt a multi-agency approach to promote anti-drug messages to schools.
