Tuen Mun District (TMDIST), Tuen Mun District Fight Crime Committee (TM DFCC) and Lingnan University jointly offered a "TMDIST Fight Crime Duathlon Experience Day" on January 3. With the support of the secondary schools and non-governmental organisations in Tuen Mun, the event drew the participation of over 60 youngsters, who were accompanied by their teachers and principals.

After the kick-off ceremony, the youngsters, some of them were Non-ethnic Chinese, joined a bicycle parade and a mini-marathon, with Acting TMDIST Commander Ko Kim-fung, Chairman of the TM DFCC, Mr Lee Hung-sham, and TMDIST Police Community Relations Officer Choy Chun-wah, in the lead. In exercises like the event, the participants can build up confidence, brush up inter-personal skills, develop teamwork and appreciate the importance of remaining law-abiding.

Some police volunteers helped out with event, bridging any communication gap that might exist between the youngsters and the police, promoting the image of the Force and instilling positive values in them.
