Marine North Division (MNDIV) earlier invited Fire Services Department (FSD), Marine Department and the seafaring community to take part in a joint fire fighting exercise in Sam Mun Tsai Typhoon Shelter. The exercise simulated a vessel catching fire and a person falling overboard into the sea. Marine Police vessels and FSD rescuers quickly put out the fire and rescued the victim.

After the exercise, Acting MNDIV Divisional Commander Timothy Worrall thanked the locals for supporting the police and other government departments in promoting sea safety.
