Yuen Long Divisional Commander Vasco Williams, together with two Police Constables, Kwong Ho-yin and Chan Kam-po, both from Patrol Sub-unit (PSU) 2 of Yuen Long Division (YLDIV), called at the Society for Abandoned Animals (SAA) on April 7 to express their gratitude for its assistance in a case last month.

When the officers from PSU 2 YLDIV were handling a case last month, the subject person was going to be admitted to hospital and her dogs would be left unattended. Fearing that the dogs might be in lack of care, the officers contacted the person's friends and family in vain.

Undiscouraged by all the setbacks, they finally asked the SAA to offer a shelter for the dogs. The SAA obliged and uploaded the case and its appreciation of the officers' good work onto its social media page. The officers were praised by many netizens for their professionalism and love for animals.

For the officers, the public response and support are a motivation for them to do even better in future.
