Under the arrangements of the Police College, three officers attended two five-day development training courses at Harvard Kennedy School in the United States (U.S.) in February and March to enhance their administrative and management skills as well as exchange views with course members from other places.

Chief Superintendent Tsang Yim-sheung attended a course on Strategic Management of Regulatory and Enforcement Agencies (SMREA), whilst Superintendents (SPs) Law Yuet-wing and Wong Tak-cheung took part in a course on Leadership Decision Making (LDM).

SMREA examined the distinctive strategic challenges that surround government agencies' regulatory and enforcement functions, and how to foster public values in an ever-changing political environment. LDM aimed to study the latest researches in judgement and decision making, and to turn scientific concepts into practical strategies for formulating better decisions.

Covering a wide spectrum of subjects, the three officers reckoned that the courses were extremely enlightening and had broadened their perspective in formulating policing strategies.
