In a bid to commend officers for their swift actions in detecting a theft and an assault in Sha Tin, a local District Councillor, Mr Ching Cheung-ying, and representatives of Sun Tin Wai Estate presented tapestry banners to Shatin District (STDIST) officers on April 13.

Receiving the banners were STDIST Commander Kwan Chui-ching, Acting STDIST Assistant Commander (Crime) Wong Chi-ming, Assistant Divisional Commander (Operations) of Tin Sum Division (TSDIV) Chow Kwok-kee and other TSDIV officers.

The theft involved a victim who was assaulted by a man, and his tablet was stolen at Sun Tin Wai Estate in February. After investigation, officers of TSDIV's Task Force and STDIST's Investigation Team 6 mounted a joint operation and arrested a male suspect for Theft and Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm. Another man and a woman were arrested for handling stolen property.
