The Force took part in "Hong Kong Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics", with a total of 1 625 Force runners turning up for the event at Sha Tin Sports Ground on April 24. Organised by the Hong Kong Special Olympics, this was an annual fund-raising campaign for people with intellectual disabilities.

Commissioner Lo Wai-chung and other guests officiated at the opening ceremony. The Torch Run commenced with the Force's torch leader, New Territories South Regional Commander Lui Hon-kwok leading Force runners and their families on a 3.5-kilometre route along Shing Mun River in high spirit.

Joining with other law enforcement departments, Force runners raised more than $810,000 out of a total donation of over $2 million. The top three fund-raising formations were Kowloon West (KW) Region, New Territories North (NTN) Region and Hong Kong Island (HKI) Region.
