The Information Security Management System (ISMS), which was developed by the Digital Forensics Section of the Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau (CSTCB), passed the certification audit of the ISO/IEC 27001:2013 in January. This demonstrated the Force's commitment to safeguard information security and strengthen the protection of digital evidence.

The objective of ISMS is to preserve the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information. ISO/IEC 27001:2013 is an auditable international standard that adopts a "Plan-Do-Check-Act" model and specifies the requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining and continually improving ISMS of an organisation. The scope of the accreditation covers the management of information security in the Computer Forensic Laboratory System, and the data acquisition and analysis processes by forensics examiners.

At the presentation ceremony on April 21, Assistant Commissioner (Crime) Chung Siu-yeung received the certificate from Mr Coleman Tse, the Sales and Marketing Director of the British Standards Institution Hong Kong. This is an important milestone for CSTCB as the certification recognises their professionalism and commitment in preventing and detecting technology crimes.
