To engage the youth community and encourage them to join the Force, the Recruitment Division and Kwai Tsing District jointly organised Project Growth to kick start a series of activities from last month.

On April 30, the mentees of the project were invited to attend a passing-out parade at the Police College. A sharing session was held afterwards, during which the mentors shared their training experience with the mentees.

A visit to Tsing Yi Police Station was arranged for the mentees on May 7. The programme included a briefing on the features of Kwai Tsing District, a demonstration of the equipment of beat patrol officers and patrol vehicles, a visit to the report room and detention facilities, and observing a briefing session of a Patrol Sub-unit.

The mentees not only expressed great interest in police work, but also got a better understanding of their community through the activities.
