The Eastern District (EDIST) Development Programme for Junior Police Officers (JPOs) has gained momentum, with EDIST Commander Graham Mitchelmore presenting the Silver Award Certificate to Police Constables (PCs) Ian Sio-wai and Lam Kang-lian on April 22 in recognition of their efforts in completing a self-learning plan.

Under the programme, EDIST has formulated a self-development plan aiming at nurturing JPOs' leadership and managerial capabilities. Mentees are encouraged to complete e-courses on the Police Intranet (POINT), participate in online courses and read a book. To acknowledge their motivation for self-learning, a Bronze, Silver or Gold Award Certificate would be presented to officers who have completed a learning plan.

Both PC Ian and PC Lam had completed an e-course on Coaching and Mentoring for Police Inspectorate Officers and an online course on management, as well as read a book on leadership. They expressed gratitude to the District management for their guidance.
