The Police College arranged Superintendent (SP) Ng Wing-sze of the Narcotics Bureau to attend a professional development course held by the FBI in Virginia, United States, from April 3 to June 10. The course brought together 213 law enforcement leaders from 22 countries/places to the FBI campus in Quantico.
The curriculum is a blend of leadership development with emphasis on critical thinking and physical training. Academic courses, accredited by the University of Virginia, are delivered in the context of leadership training, technical and operation skills, contemporary issues in criminal justice, dynamics of organisational behaviour, as well as personal and professional development.
Apart from lectures, course members have to attend a fitness-training programme in preparation for the "Yellow Brick Road Challenge", which is a 6.1-mile run along an obstacle trail. Ms Ng overcame all the challenges.
Ms Ng said, "The training had not only enriched my knowledge of law enforcement trends, but also offered inspiring physical training to boost health consciousness."
