Under the arrangement of the Police College, Chief Inspector Chan Chiu-hei and Senior Inspectors Sham Chun-yin and Tang Chi-tsing attended the "Leadership in Action" course as a visiting fellow and participants respectively at the Queensland Police Service Academy in Australia from May 23 to June 3.

The course was tailor-made for middle-ranking police officers with an aim to beefing up trainees' skills in leadership, environmental scanning, communication and project management. It covered sharing by senior directorate officers of Queensland Police Service and Queensland Fire and Rescue Service, as well as visits to local police stations to learn about their daily policing work and challenges.

The three Hong Kong officers opined that the training had kept them abreast of the latest management and leadership strategies, and also gave them a chance to establish a rapport with overseas law enforcement officers.
