"The Prize Presentation Ceremony of Hang Seng Bank Help the Police Fight Youth Crime Competition 2016" was held at the Police Headquarters on July 14, with Commissioner Lo Wai-chung and Vice-Chairman cum Chief Executive of Hang Seng Bank Ms Rose Lee officiating at the ceremony and presenting trophies and certificates to over 70 awardees and representatives of Primary, Secondary, Tertiary and Open groups. More than 200 guests attended the ceremony.
Mr Lo commended the awardees for their excellent performance, adding that their winning entries of four-cell manga and micro-movies were very creative and demonstrated their determination to fight crime. For 24 of the awardees who were selected as Fight Crime Ambassadors, he wished them enjoy the Dutch cultural exchange programme to be held in late August.
Ms Lee said that the contestants showed their creativity and the style of young people in their works, which could spread the crime prevention message effectively. She stressed that Hang Seng Bank had been actively supporting youth activities including this competition to help the teenagers develop positive values.
The categories of online fight crime games, four-cell manga and micro-movies were introduced for the competition this year, and had attracted a record number of over 300 000 contestants. The competition aimed to encourage the contestants to apply new ideas and strategies to promote the three key messages of "Anti-drug", "Anti-cyber crime" and "Anti-quick cash crime" under the theme of "Fight Crime Together For Tomorrow".
Launched in 1975, the biennial competition is one of the major crime prevention programmes organised by the Police Public Relations Branch and has been supported by Hang Seng Bank since 1994. Apart from the trophies, certificates, book vouchers and scholarship, the awardees would have the opportunity to join a Leadership Training Camp to groom them as future youth leaders.
