With the arrangements made by the Police College, Senior Inspectors (SIPs) Hui Yue-mun from the Joint Financial Intelligence Unit of the Narcotics Bureau and Man Chi-yeung from the Regional Crime Unit of New Territories South attended the Senior Police Administration Course at the Canadian Police College in Ottawa between June 7 and 23, followed by a job attachment at the York Regional Police (YRP) in Greater Toronto Area from June 24 to 30.
The course provided a platform for 19 police officers from Canada, Cayman Islands and Hong Kong to share experience about the leadership model in the perspectives of strategic change cycle, emotional intelligence and police ethics.
The weeklong job attachment, which was hosted by the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Bureau of the YRP, gave both SIPs insights into good practices of diversity policing with minorities. They learned how the Canadian Police handled policing matters with various ethnic and religious groups in a professional manner.
