Following the appointment of five inspectors and 16 junior police officers as Counter-terrorism (CT) Cadre members, Marine Outer Waters District (MOWDIST) invited the Security Wing to provide tailor-made train-the-trainers workshops for these members to beef up their intelligence on global terrorist trends.
Speaking at a workshop on July 20, Deputy Commander of MOWDIST Mui Lam-sang appreciated the 21 CT Cadre members for taking up such an important role to pass on what they learn to their fellow officers.
The CT Cadre would provide training for over 1 000 officers of MOWDIST later to raise their awareness to terrorist activities, enhance their understanding of the need for certain port infrastructure and sensitive buildings in MOWDIST to meet the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Regulations, and improve their readiness to deal with ISPS incidents.
