The MacDonald Cup Inter-Major Formation Basketball Tournament took place at the Police Sports and Recreation Club on June 24, with Marine Region, champion of the last tournament, retained championship by beating Kowloon West (KW) Region. Kowloon East (KE) Region won the second runner-up title. Senior Superintendent Cheung Mei-hon of Marine Region was selected as the most valuable player by chief coaches of the four finalists.

Meanwhile, in the Leslie-Luscombe Cup Inter-Formation Basketball Tournament held earlier, Marine Outer Waters District reigned supreme again for the eighth year in a row. The first and the second runners-up were Yuen Long District and Operations Wing of KE Region respectively.

Director of Personnel and Training Chiu Wai-yin presented trophies to all the winning teams and encouraged the players to continue with their efforts and scale new heights.
