Chief Inspector (Crime) of Western District Yan Fong-wai led 14 officers from District Investigation Teams (DIT) of various police districts to visit Shenyang from July 3 to 6 under an Overseas and Mainland Study Visit Programme organised by the Crime Wing.

To comprehend the development of criminal investigation techniques on the Mainland and interact with detectives at different levels, the Force delegation visited several local offices including the Criminal Investigation Bureau of Liaoning Provincial Public Security Department, Shenyang Municipal Criminal Investigation Bureau and a branch bureau.

Lastly, the delegates called on the National Police University of China where they attended a talk given by the vice-director of the college on the "Police System in China".

The delegates commented that the visit had not only given them a chance to gain first-hand experience of the policing work in China, but also deepened their understanding of the rule of law in the country.
