In a bid to strengthen officers' ability and expertise to investigate commercial and financial related crimes, the Commercial Crime Bureau (CCB) organised a Commercial Crime Investigation Course (CCIC) for local inspectorate officers and overseas law enforcement agents at the Police Headquarters from July 4 to 12.

Chief Superintendent of CCB Wong Ying-wai delivered opening remarks and highlighted the role of CCIC as a platform for officers around the globe to share their experience and best practices in combating cross-boundary commercial crimes.

In addition to 13 local officers from different bureaux and regional crime formations of the Force, CCB had invited 14 overseas law enforcement officers to share their experience in combating commercial crimes. Besides, one officer from the Securities and Futures Commission and two from the Customs and Excise Department also joined the course.

CCB officers and speakers from a number of local and overseas authorities talked about the trends in commercial crimes, fraud investigation tools, financial regulations and prosecution procedures.

During the certificate presentation ceremony, Superintendent of CCB Fraud Division Andy Chan thanked all the participants for their commitment, and encouraged them to maintain a close partnership with their international law enforcement counterparts.
