After the Hong Kong Branch of the International Social Service (ISS) moved to Tuen Mun, Tuen Mun District (TMDIST) invited its management team to join a sharing session on June 15. The event aimed to leverage on the ISS' gateway to promote fight crime and road safety messages to non-refoulement claimants in the district.


TMDIST Commander Rupert Dover, Deputy Commander Ko Kim-fung, Acting Commander of Castle Peak Division Wong Ho-mau and officers of the Police Community Relations Office attended the event to strengthen liaison with the ISS staff.


On the other hand, under the leadership of NTN Regional Commander Kwok Ho-fai, Crime New Territories North (NTN) Headquarters hosted another sharing session with the ISS on July 27. All District Commanders in the Region attended the meeting. The ISS management team introduced the background and the situation of non-refoulement claimants in Hong Kong, and discussed with the officers on areas of co-operation.


Later the day, the ISS gave a talk on "Understanding the Non-refoulement Claimants" at NTN Regional Headquarters for over 140 officers, including Divisional Commanders and frontline officers in the Region.


The ISS has been commissioned by the Social Welfare Department to provide humanitarian assistance to non-refoulement claimants in Hong Kong since 2006.
