On August 9, the Auxiliary Support Bureau staged the Police Sports and Arts Clubs Fair for 120 Recruit Police Constables of the Auxiliary Police who have been undergoing the Basic and Special Basic Training Courses. The fair was held to encourage the recruits to participate in sports and arts clubs of the regular Police Force as well as the Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Force to adopt a healthy lifestyle.

Twelve regular police sports clubs and seven police arts clubs joined the Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Club in setting up stalls and arranging a variety of activities, demonstrations and performances at the fair. Many recruits signed up for the clubs. Among the most popular ones were the Shooting Club, the Dragon Boat Team, the Rugby Club, the English Club and the Auxiliary Police Volunteer Services Cadre.
