To enhance officers' professionalism and capability in combating the evolving tactics of financial criminals, the Commercial Crime Bureau (CCB) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) of the United States jointly organised the first training course about Intelligence Gathering and Analysis of Financial Crime on September 14 and 15. A total of 31 officers from Crime Wing and various Regions participated in the course.

The course incorporated the best practices from both the public and private sectors in the international arena. Two FBI Intelligence Analysts were invited to talk about common fraud practices, emerging trends of financial crime, intelligence analysis of terrorist financing as well as strategic intelligence reporting. Experienced banking professionals also shared their expertise in intelligence analysis.

Chief Superintendent of CCB Wong Ying-wai delivered welcoming remarks and highlighted the importance of intelligence gathering through the public-private partnership model in curbing financial crime.
