Headed by Sau Mau Ping District (SMPDIST) Deputy Commander Steven Tait, officers from SMPDIST and Traffic Kowloon East Region launched the "Promotion of Road Safety Education cum Law Enforcement Day in SMPDIST" in partnership with local stakeholders, including Ms So Lai-chun and Mr Cheung Pui-kong, the respective Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Traffic and Transport Committee of the Kwun Tong District Council, from September 13 to 15.

SMPDIST Senior Police Call and the elderly patrol team of the Hong Kong Road Safety Patrol (Kowloon East Region) were invited to assist in distributing publicity leaflets to pedestrians near the traffic accident black spots. After the publicity exercise in the morning, officers stepped up enforcement actions at the black spots in the afternoon to take a two-pronged approach to improve road safety.
