With the arrangement made by the Police College, Senior Superintendent Kong Hok-lai led a Superintendent, two Chief Inspectors and eight Senior Inspectors to pay a study visit to the French National Police (FNP) in Paris from September 12 to 16.
The delegation met with various units of the FNP to discuss counter-terrorism strategies, security planning of major events, policing of public events and internal security matters. They also visited several specialist units, including the French SWAT team - RAID, VIP Protection Unit, Anti-Riot Unit, Public Transport Security Unit as well as Information and Command Centre of Public Order and Traffic Directorate.
One of the highlights was an experience sharing session given by the Director of the Inter-ministerial Delegation for Major Sports Events and the Deputy Head of Anti-Terrorist Co-ordination Unit, who shared with the delegates their good practices acquired and challenges encountered in hosting international football events.
