The Chairlady of the first Management Committee of the "Hong Kong Police Delegation for Zhejiang Police College Study Programme Alumni Association" (HKP-ZJPC Alumni), Superintendent Tang Suk-chun, led the Vice-chairman, Chief Inspector Chung Kin-yeung, and two committee members, Senior Inspectors (SIPs) Chau Kin-hung and Law Po-chu, to pay a courtesy visit to their alma mater on the Mainland, Zhejiang Police College, in late October.
With the assistance of the Police Liaison Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (the Liaison Office), the Hong Kong Police College (HKPC) has been arranging for local officers to attend a 10-day National Studies Course at ZJPC since 2011 with an aim to enhancing officers' understanding of policing in and the contemporary situation of Mainland China.
During the visit, the Alumni members were given a warm welcome by President of ZJPC Fu Guoliang, and attended the graduation ceremony cum farewell dinner of the 12th National Studies Course. Ms Tang presented trophies to ZJPC and the Liaison Office. One of the officiating guests at the dinner, Director of HKPC Lau Chi-wai, affirmed in her speech the important role of the Alumni in fostering a long-term exchange platform between officers on both sides, and encouraged officers to participate in the Alumni's activities.
More than 150 course members have joined the Alumni since its establishment in 2015. The Alumni organised a gala dinner for their members on November 2.
