The Commercial Crime Bureau (CCB) organised two Property Fraud Seminars in conjunction with The Law Society of Hong Kong and Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants on September 6 and October 12 respectively, drawing an attendance of nearly 400 lawyers and accountants.
CCB Chief Inspector Tang Shun-yan said the seminars aimed at heightening the vigilance of practitioners in the relevant sectors about the latest modus operandi of fraudsters, and appealed to them to assist the Force in combating these crimes.
Apart from a briefing by a CCB officer on the prevention of property fraud, an expert from the Immigration Department was invited to speak on the security features of the Hong Kong Identity Card.
