A representative of a Mainland company presented tapestry banners and an appreciation letter to Assistant Commander (Crime) of Tai Po District (TPDIST) Wong Kin-yee, Chief Inspector (Crime 2) Cheng Chak-hang and officers of District Investigation Team 1 (DIT 1) on November 16 in recognition of their prompt actions in foiling an email deception.

Earlier in June, the company's business partner in Dubai received a fraudulent email and mistakenly wired $106,000 in US dollars to an unknown bank account in Hong Kong. Upon receiving the case, officers of DIT 1 TPDIST immediately notified the relevant bank, and the bank stopped the transaction and refunded the money to the company.
