Arranged by the Police College, a 12-member delegation, headed by Chief Inspector Swalikh Mohammed and comprising two Senior Inspectors, three Sergeants and six Police Constables, visited the South Wales Police in the United Kingdom from November 14 to 18.

Apart from visiting the local police headquarters, control centres, training centres and custody facilities, the delegates met the Assistant Police and Crime Commissioners as well as the Representative Workforce Team. They were briefed on a range of policing matters, which covered diversity policing, procedures of and detention facilities for handling mentally incapacitated persons, engagement of ethnic minorities and counter-terrorism strategies.

One of the highlights of the visit was a meeting with the Deputy Chief Constable, Mr Matt Jukes, who shared his policing experience with the delegation. The delegates also held discussions with officials from the Welsh Government, the Welsh Local Government Association, the Immigration Enforcement Unit, the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub and the Cardiff Community Safety Partnership.
