The head of the Supervision Committee of Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department (GD PSD), Mr Su Quangui, paid a courtesy call on the Director of Management Services (DMS), Li Kin-fai, on December 20. He also led an eight-member delegation to visit the Complaints and Internal Investigations Branch and the Discipline Division.
Mr Li and Mr Su exchanged their views on integrity management. Both of them believed that integrity education should start at the beginning of a police officer's career to achieve the best result. They also said that the public has increasing expectations on officers' conduct amid the complex and ever-changing policing environment. As a result, officers should remain vigilant and maintain professional sensitivity at all times whilst supervisory officers should act as a role model and exercise self-discipline to uphold the professional image and credibility of their respective law enforcement authority.
Both Mr Su and Mr Li found the meeting constructive as they gained a better understanding of each other's policing challenges, and reinforced the importance of integrity management.
