Platoon Commander 2 of the TANGO Company of the Police Tactical Unit Chan Sin-yee led a seven-member delegation to call on the Public Order Unit 6 of the Korea National Police Agency (KNPA) in Seoul between November 29 and December 2 in a bid to share their experience in handling public events and other policing matters.
The Public Order Unit 6, which performs similar functions as TANGO Company, is formed of female officers who assist other Public Order Teams in handling social disturbances arising from protests and demonstrations involving women and children.
The TANGO delegates visited the operational base of the KNPA Public Order Unit 6. The Unit's Commander conducted a briefing on its structure, establishment and functions, whilst unit members showed their anti-riot gears and demonstrated their strategies and skills in removing protestors.
The visit strengthened the capability and confidence of TANGO members in handling public events. Both parties hoped to maintain regular exchange to build a closer partnership.
